Ben Rhydding 5th X1 continued their push for promotion with a good win against Boston Spa 3rdX1. With a changed side from last week it took a while for the 5th X1 to get going, but Mark Ketteman at centre half soon took control of the game and controlled the midfield.
The Boston Spa goalie made some excellent saves until Paul Wilson made a great run into the right corner, beat 2 players and then rifled a shot into the bottom corner.
It remained 1-0 at half time but Ben Rhydding pushed for a 2nd after the interval, Alistair Woodhead and Dominic Wright thwarted any attacks and the 5th X1 created lots of chances until birthday boy Tom Precious on his 15th birthday wrapped up the game with a precise shot to make it 2-0.
Man of the match was awarded to Paul Wilson for his tremendous work rate.
