Welcome to the meet info and reports of the now infamous Summer Runners. We go out on a Wednesday evening over the summer and run from almost anywhere around Ilkley Moor.
A different hill and pub every week, and differentiated running so anyone's welcome.
It's a very informal little club.
Only two rules: 1) No-one runs alone, 2) If you're daft enough to run fast, you run further.

Meet at the layby on Lightbank lane, right at the foot of Nab End. Potter through the woods, over t'moor and then back to Addingham for a pint in the Fleece. :) A great run for Will, Logie and me. Beautiful weather inbetween rain showers. A quick circuit and off to the pub for a pint. |

Yet again, this will start with some steady uphill :) and a screaming descent back down again. :D Well, Will and I had a cracking great run. Nice to see Fish, Sel, Ruth and Frenchy, even if they weren't running. :) |

A long way away, this one. Closer for Fish, mind... hope she'll be there.
Leave plenty of time to get there. (Especially you, Mr Jerram)
Parking is the small spot by the side of the road right on the top of the hill between Barden and Embsay.
Easy ish run, but a cheeky last hill to kill you all off. :) Another utterly beautiful evening and a lovely run. Well done all for that last hill. :) |

OK. Quite fancy doing a bit of exploring from DH, so may take a bit of a different route and be prepared for a little more off the big track stuff. I've been studying the satellite images.... :)
If I don't make it due to time pressures of Kitchen DIY etc, then you can do the normal route. I didn't make it due to DIY pressures. Apparently a quick run in the rain for the die-hards. Well done you lot. |

Off to the woods again. Park up on Lightbank lane, just after Nab end. This layby
Narnia woods is a bit of road, a lovely path through the woods, a long steady climb up the big track, then a bit of rough moor running back to the Nab End drop off.
Beers in Addingham afterwards
OMG. What a beautiful evening. Stunning run, and good to see Mr Cussons out for a second week running. Nice to have MrsMoose along as well. :) |

Yeah. You know you love it. Beamsley is a slightly longer run than most, and also has a tough climb at the start. But once on the top, it's plain sailing along the ridge then a good long descent, then an undulating potter along the bridleway back to the cars.
Park up on the grassy space opposite the noticeboard. Beers in Addingham (Fleece) afterwards Great running by everyone. Got very wet on the top, but kept up a good pace for the whole run. Nice beers in the pub (bar tat - who spotted the deliberate mistake in the meet info) after, where we met the slacker Rob. |

OK. Here we go again. First run of the year, from the C&C car park, drinkies in the pub after. I'm still feeling fragile after being stuck in Kathmandu for an extra week, so nothing too hard.
It'll be good to see you all out on the hills. Good to see you all, and new faces. Well done Fay. Beautiful evening out there. And lovely beers afterwards. |

Embsay moor should be relatively easy on the hills, and relatively easy underfoot. Back to Addingham for beers.
Make sure you leave enough time to get there. Apologies to the Leeds people as it's a long way. Best way to go is through Bolton Abbey almost to Barden tower, turn left and up to the top of the hill. Lovely new run that one. generally easy on the hills, apart from the last cheeky stretch up the road. :) Lovely evening out. |
