Welcome to the meet info and reports of the now infamous Summer Runners. We go out on a Monday evening over the summer and run from almost anywhere around Ilkley Moor.
A different hill and pub every week, and differentiated running so anyone's welcome.
It's a very informal little club.
Only two rules: 1) No-one runs alone, 2) If you're daft enough to run fast, you run further.

Anyone fancy a gentle run round Narnia woods tonight? Little leg stretch through the woods, around the moor then off for something cooling maybe? Meet at the usual spot on Lightbank Lane. Lovely little run round the woods. Usual bijou crowd but finished off with nice pint in Addingham as tradition dictates. |

Moor was quite dry and beautiful. Dick Hudson had some interesting beer in. Will, Chris & Logie were joined by Nic on her first run out with us. |

Beamsley Beacon : [map] |
Ahh, finally we meet. All off up the Beacon on a Bank Holiday. Could we have planned a nicer way to spend some of the afternoon? Bar T'at afterwards for something warming. Lovely warm evening and a slightly longer run than normal encompassing an additional loop at the top of the run. Starting to get into head-torch territory now after 8pm. |

A cheeky additional run this week as a warm up to the weekend. A little tour out from the Cow & Calf to see what we can see with a slightly earlier start to keep ahead of the light. Lovely run out for Logie and I following the Millenium Way from the Cow & Calf then uphill past the reservoirs to the 12 Apostles and trig point. |

I can't make it tonight so it's back to Dick Hudsons for a quick sprint up the moor to the 12 Apostles and back. Please let me know who's going and I'll confirm numbers. Dick Hudsons is the obvious choice for afterwards. Thanks. How time flies when we're holiday-ing. Hope all have had a lovely rest and are charged ready for the gentle trot into pre-season. |

The highlight of the first half of the summer - It's Beamsley Beacon with it's steady climb and water feature on the way home. Meet at Langbar and we'll see what route we end up taking. Beers in Bar T'at afterwards methinks. Injury prone weekend meant that I couldn't run and I'm not sure if Logie soldiered on alone. We'll save this for later in the summer. |

Starting from the usual layby on Lightbank Lane it's off to the woods then up the track onto the moor.
Off toThe Fleece in Addingham for the second time already this summer if anyone fancies an aprés-run. Just Logie and I out. A lovely run in mixed weather. Route was amended on the way round the woods for a bit of variety but we still included the big drop to finish. All followed by Copper Dragon in Addingham. Marvellous. |

Not a run listing here. Just to say I had my hip surgery saturday, so I won't be sorting out the runs for the rest of this season as no running for 13 weeks for me. :( Will B is in charge now. (We're doomed!) |

Argh. Not getting the hang of this monday night thing yet. Karen has inspectors in next week, so decided to run from ours so she can run. And I couldn't decide where to go and it's sunday night. Will get back to normal soon. Might try a different route out that doesn't involve going straight up straight away.... :)

Logie and I had a lovely run up on t'moor. very dry up there, hard underfoot - but I did manage to find some bog for him. |

Summer running has now finished for the season - there are only 4 weeks or so left before the hockey season starts and I won't be around for some of those weeks, and the stalwarts are busy.
We'll aim to do some beers before the end of August. If you want a run any time, try contacting me or one of the other runners. I'll still be running. Or biking .Or something.
