13th Oct 2018 Mens 1st v Sheffield Univ Bankers(Away) 2 - 5 loss

It took just a minute for Bankers to drive straight through the middle to score their first goal which unsettled Rhydding. Soon after Bankers scored from their third consecutive penalty corner and poor marking led to a third after just 20 minutes.

After a flowing piece of attacking play with Helme passing to Bairstow who linked with Gamble at the back post, Musgrave slid in to score a delightful goal for Rhydding who now looked better and on the upper hand. A penalty corner straight after half time led to a second Rhydding goal with Musgrave despatching the corner delightfully.

Wil Jones defended a shot in the D with the ball striking his hand, and whilst saving a goal he will now be out for six weeks or so with a broken metacarpal. All the best, Jonesy. With Bankers down to 9 men after two yellow cards Rhydding took off keeper Rutter, who had made a decent save or two, and put McCollum on as kicking back. Despite pressurising more and more this led to conceding two goals whilst pushing for an equaliser.
Callum Franks had a super game at right-half, winning MOTM. Home at 3-m next week vs Chapeltown.
