3rd Nov 2018 Mens 1st v Wilmslow(Home) 7 - 1 win

This was a game of simply stunning and sexy hockey throughout! It took less than 5 mins for Ben Rhydding to go ahead, stroking the ball around the park with beautiful connections. The final trio in this move were Dave McCollum passing to George Gamble who drove into space on the inside to connect with Will Musgrave who popped the ball away deftly to open the scoring.

The second came from another series of brilliant connections; the final three being Robert Ramsden to Callum Franks to Matty Bairstow who slotted clinically.

Two minutes into the second half, an aggressive press executed brilliantly produced another link up from Max Helme to Will Musgrave to Rob Ramsden to carefully slot past the keeper to make it 3-0. Loose marking in midfield let Wilmslow through and they gained a corner.

Young Josh Hughes in goal had a remarkable debut and was able to get something on the first attempt but Wilmslow made the most of the bits and pieces and got one back.

Rhydding replied with fine short corner strikes from Musgrave and Myles Locke to make it 5-1 before Callum Franks smashed in the sixth and Andrew Lorimer (pictured) unleashed one of his trademark reverse scorchers to conclude the affair at 7-1.

This Saturday the Men make the short journey to Weetwood where they play Leeds at 3.30pm.
