5th Oct 2019 Mens 1st v Leeds Men's 2s(Away) 4 - 1 win

Ben Rhydding put on an impressive and slick performance away at Leeds to win 4-1 and climb up the North Premier Table to 5th place. Myles Locke posed an immediate threat with his ability to make long connections and Leeds had no answer to the fluid hockey they faced. Fraser Arnott put Will Musgrave through and he buried a trademark reverse that was simply stunning to give Rhydding an early lead. Matty Birch was high impact throughout and physical dynamism coming through from the back initiated many attacks. It was disappointing for Rhydding that Leeds scored an equaliser on the half time whistle and were back in the game.
In the second half, Neil Sugden showed immense composure and experience in dominating the possession calmly. He toyed with Leeds in the circle and put Max Helme through on goal, he slipped it across the face of the keeper for Matty Bairstow to convert and take Rhydding back into the lead. Rhyddings press work and deep defence were outstanding and they looked totally in control for the first fifteen minutes. A spectacular individual goal from Charlie Smith took Rhydding out of danger and all that was left for Leeds was to take their keeper off in dying phase of the game in the hope they could claw back. With Rhyddings ability to hit long balls to fast forwards, the plan backfired and Charlie Smith popped another into an empty goal to seal the deal at 4-1.
This was an impressive performance by Ben Rhydding, leaving everyone very excited for the big few games ahead.
