9th Nov 2019 Mens 1st v Neston Men's 1s(Home) 3 - 3 draw

Ben Rhydding hosted Neston in an eventful and erratic game which ended in a tie, which given the performances of both sides, was probably the right result. Rhydding began very sluggishly and kept giving the ball to Neston who were far hungrier than the home side. They were rewarded with a goal after poor marking and loose concentration from Rhydding. Neston made it 2-0 just minutes later, with a free player in the circle. Rhydding replied with a superb corner from Myles Locke but it was disallowed. He repeated this shortly after to get the score back to 2-1 and it was now all about the second half. Will Musgrave stepped up to bring his team level from a glorious corner and now it was a scrap to the end. With just 5 minutes on the clock, Rhyddings phase of brave hockey ended in a penalty stroke which Will Musgrave converted clinically to give the home side the lead. Trying to close the game out, Rhydding faced a flurry of Neston pressure and a string of corners. Desperate defending drew a penalty stroke for Neston in the dying embers of the game and they seized the gift to claim the draw.
