8th Feb 2020 Mens 1st v Lindum Men's 1(Away) 1 - 4 loss

Ben Rhydding, after such a sparkling home performance last week, trudged all the way to Lincoln with just 12 men, and as luck would have it, lost Max Helme to a broken rib in the early part of the game. This left them to play the rest of the match with no subs. Despite this, they had the lion’s share of possession for the first twenty minutes but did not convert their chances. Lindum’s first goal was against the run of play and a counter break tactic that worked well, with an isolated player free to collect a loose ball and convert. It was another series of mistakes that led to goal number 2 against Rhydding within minutes of the first. A fine save from Torran Hockley kept out a corner on the half time whistle and Rhydding went into the break optimistic of a come-back.
However, Lindum came out hard and pumped numbers forward, scoring a third quite quickly. Confusion over marking led to the fourth goal for Lindum and the game looked to be over. Rhydding battled hard to the bitter end under extreme fatigue and George Gamble pulled one back to keep their pride in tact. This leaves them in 6th place in the North Premier League.
