2nd Oct 2021 Mens 1st v Brigg(Away) 6 - 2 win

The relentless downpour at Brigg played into Rhydding’s hands as the pitch played super-quick and suited their game perfectly. However, it was Brigg that took an early lead against the run of play, breaking away after a long period of defending.

It was only a matter of time before Rhydding scored and it was a spectacular, screeching backhand following some impressive skill from Ross McMillan to get them started. Myles Locke initiated the second with great long vision and it was George Gamble that found the final connection to make it 2-1.

Charlie Smith was impossible to stop and drawing a corner, Will Musgrave delivered a beauty to take it to 3-1. Skipper, Rob Ramsden, leading by example spun through to create the fourth which Mark Portnell finished with impressive dexterity. Will Musgrave made it 5 with an exceptional corner but Brigg, dangerous on the break, cut away to get one back.

The final goal was a joy, superb teamwork from back to front, pure athleticism from Charlie Smith and a text book final connection for Rob Elsworth to claim the spoils. An impressive team performance from Rhydding and 3 wins from 3 but Lindum creep ahead of them on the leader board on goal difference.
