4th Jan 2020 Ladies 4th v Louth1(Away) 0 - 5 loss

Twelve players and 4 spectators set of at 8.15am from Ben Rhydding for Louth.
The sun was shining, the birds were singing and our oppo were probably still asleep. Morale was high as our two and a half hour journey came to an end and we rocked up at our destination. An inspirational speech and team tactics were given which left us raring to go as we set up to face the opposition.

Things looked great as the first 10 minutes looked equal, match was in our favour. A few brilliant runs up front helped the team immensely. We had team spirit on our side, but, they scored the first goal of the match. Our goalkeeper, Fran, was kept busy shouting get back on a regular basis as the opposition pressed again and again. We kept our spirits up and kept on pushing but at half time we were 2 0 down.

After another inspirational team talk at half time we dusted off the cobwebs of the festive period and started strong. We created a lot of chances but, unfortuatenly, we couldnt quite find the back of the net.
Despite being a few goals down we continued to work hard and track back and defend - working with positivity being rewarded with several short corners only to see saves made.

The final score ended 0-5. It doesnt reflect the teams efforts and tenacity. All in all it was good to get an early New Year game in after the Christmas break.
