What a difference a week makes! The team performance by all was fantastic. The blend of youth and experience worked well and the final result showed this.
After an inspirational team talk the team the ladies started off with great determination from the start. Lovely passing down the left hand side resulted in Katherine Liver putting the Ilkley ladies ahead after just a couple of minutes.

The game was end to end with great hockey being played by both teams. Daisy Laxton was strong on the right and provided many passes to her fellow forwards.
Another goal from Liver followed and at the scored was 2-0 at half time.
The second half saw action at both ends with young goalkeeper Fran Tomeski making numerous saves. Charlotte Burrows was strong in the middle defending well but also providing support in attack.

It was captain Phil Glass who widened the gap with a well struck goal but the game was so tense as Canalside were awarded a dubious goal to put the score at 3 -2. With the opposition having a penalty corner in the dying seconds which Rhydding defended well, there was immense relief to hear the final whistle.
