18th Jan 2020 Ladies 4th v Scarborough1(Home) 4 - 1 win

Confidence has been growing for the Ladies 4th team following their 3-2 win last weekend, so we approached this match against top of the table Scarborough with positivity. Following an inspirational team talk from Mary Pawson, we started with great determination and were not in awe of the opposition. We worked hard to contain Scarborough and stopped them from gaining any momentum. The forwards pressed and got the reward of 2 goals. Scarborough were only able to get one goal back before half time. So 2 -1 at half time and all to play for.

We expected Scarborough to come at us hard in the second half, but it never happened. We continued to pass the ball on quickly, working as a team to create chance after chance. Daisy Laxton made some great crosses from the right which led to 2 further goals. It could have been 5 but the post denied Sarah Bradley's strike from a short corner. Only complaint of the day came from Fran Tometzki in goal who got cold in the second half, not something she encounters as she's often kept much busier....

Goal scorers Becca Harrison 2 Lucy Laycock and Lydia Sunman.
A super team effort.
