Always a close encounter, this game was no exception! A game of 2 halves!

Both teams were evenly matched with both fielding a balance of youth and experience.

BR started steadily and began to gain confidence in each other, passing the ball confidently in all areas of the pitch. The forwards created pockets of space up front and there were some excellent moves down the flanks. With supportive play from midfield, BR pressured the Thirsk defence and gained several corners. After saving several straight shots, BR changed the tactic and moved the ball swiftly around the circle. This created the angle to score and Sarah Bradley hammered the ball into the net for her first ladies goal on her debut.

In the second half, Thirsk came back strongly to pepper the BR defence but they remained calm and composed throughout, marking effectively, producing timely tackles and saving off the line.

Georgia Mayrick in goal was outstanding, showing a maturity of play beyond her years.

A great 1-0 win in the sun, albeit by the skinwell take that.3 points!
