17th Nov 2018 Mens 2nd v Airedale 1(Away) 3 - 1 win

In a rough and ill-disciplined game Rhydding 2s continued to stand strong. A lack-lustre first half saw them squander a number of good chances to quieten a physical Airedale team. Foster's roaming centre-half role saw him arrive at the near post and fire a pass across the face of goal. It ricocheted high off a defender and Hagan was on hand to control the ball into the goal. Till's M-o-M performance was earned by his solid defensive play against a very fast winger. Only once was Till completely beaten before he took control of the situation and shut down Airedale's main attacking threat.

Rhydding started the second half more brightly and continued to press. From a short corner, the ball came back to the injector Foster who made no mistake in finishing from close range. Rhydding were in control when a yellow card was awarded against Airedale for chopping Bradley's legs from under him. On Airedale's return to full strength shoddy communication left Benedikz marking the centre-forward. A long ball cut through the defence and Benedikz should have done better in the one-on-one before Airedale scored. Conceding shook Rhydding back into shape and Foster restored the 2-goal lead with an identical goal.

Another yellow card, this time for a clear kick on Bradley after he was clear of his defender, left Airedale with 10 players. Rhydding were unable to capitalise but held firm in the face of an increasingly physical and abusive opposition. A 3-1 win and no cards collected in a difficult game sees Rhydding sitting top of the league.
