29th Sep 2018 Mens 3rd v City of York 7(Home) 9 - 0 win

Magnificent performance by Ben Rhydding 3rds from back to front. With Josh Dunn and Andy Logan returning from injury and Cussons Senior and Junior playing, it was always going to be a strong team.
The team moved the ball purposely round defence and midfield and caused York continuous problems down the flanks.
And with Joe Cussons at his sharpest he was first to most balls in the D to fire home. After he opened the scoring, Josh Caldwell drag flicked into the top of the net from our first short corner, Mark Horsman and Greg Roberts also scored alongside another goal from Joe to make it 5-0 at half time.
One of the goals was a particularly pleasing team goal as 6 Ben Rhydding players were involved in the build up after the ball was won in midfield, transferred across the defence to the right wing, and then fired across the D to be finished.
In the second half Cussons scored a couple more and James Snook and Martin Higgitt got in on the act. We think Joe scored 5 goals, though the umpire insists the final score was 9-0, so Joe will have to settle for just the 4 on the record sheet.
Next week will be a tougher test against a certain Ben Rhydding 4s.
