22nd Sep 2018 Mens 5th v Boston Spa 3(Away) 2 - 4 loss

A much better performance by the 5th team this week and when the players passed the ball with accuracy and purpose, they looked the better side, and with a bit more composure in front of goal could have come away with the points.
Boston Spa opened the scoring, but Richard Brooke levelled the scores before half time with a well taken goal. Jonathan Wood twice had the leave the field having been bundled into by the opposition, but showed strong character to return to the field of play and had a very accomplished display in defence to earn him the Man of the Match. Max Bradley picked up from the previous week and had some good interchanges down the right with Richard Dawson (maybe he can predict what Richard is going to do!), Petur Benedikz was equally industrious both in attack and tracking back to defend.
The second half started badly for Ben Rhydding as they conceded two goals, but they found their shape again and Richard Dawson scored to bring Ben Rhydding back into the game. There were several scrambled opportunities in front of goal which Ben Rhydding should have scored from but Boston Spa had the final say scoring their fourth from a well struck short corner.
