3rd Nov 2018 Mens 5th v Harrogate 6(Home) 4 - 0 win

The 5ths had a great game this week.

We started off with a lot of energy, great marking, lots of challenging when Harrogate had the ball, players finding good space and great passing. From the start Rhydding was in control.

Following several attempts which the excellent Harrogate keeper kept out, our first goal came from Tindall, who lifted it into the top of the Harrogate net. As the half progressed Rhydding started to slow down a little, which meant that players werent coming back to make passes easy and longer passes started to get intercepted. Harrogate settled down and started to get much stronger in the midfield. Nevertheless, Rhydding had the majority of possession but couldnt find a second goal.

In the second half Rhydding tightened up again and put Harrogate under more pressure. Jack Worthington, left back, was supporting the midfield when the ball came out to him; he brought it just inside the D and struck a brilliant drive straight past the keeper, taking us to 2-0. Max Bradley followed that up when Abbott tried to slide the ball inside the keeper only for it to skim off the post, but Max was on the other post and neatly scored as the ball crossed the goal face. Tindall finished off the scoring with a solid final goal, so 4-0.

Everyone worked hard, passed well, and played as a team. All the juniors were excellent, but Man of the Match goes to Aiden for a lovely combination of skills, persistence and situational awareness.
