13th Nov 2021 Mens 6th v Aire Valley 3(Away) 0 - 4 loss

The scoreline was immaterial. The 6th team took a well organised Aire Valley side to half time without conceding a goal, this was down to some incredible performances from George Dudley, Oliver Burgess, Sam Dixon and James Cumberland who all had outstanding games.

Defensively Ben Rhydding looked very good - Joe Bishop shaped up very well, supported by Mark Westwood and some excellent keeping from Daniel Byrne, gaving the whole team a boost for the second half.

It was obvious due to the size of these boys that maintaining a similar performance in the second half against a more senior side was a task in itself, Rhydding seniors Ian Shutt and Mark Westwood did their utmost to ensure the young lads distribution of the ball improved to at least keep Aire Valley at bay but sadly it was not too be.

With legs tiring mistakes were happening but in Goalkeeper Daniel Byrne it was a case of cometh the hour cometh the man, he had different ideas, this boy had an excellent game time and time again he kept Rhydding In with a chance. Even at 2-0 down Rhydding had chances even though limited, to get back in the game.

Finn Craggs found some good positions and continues to get better in every game, on the right wing, Richard Brook did his best to combine with his players but got very little at centre forward.

In all this was an excellent team performance against a more senior side which David Abbott has drawn up and it is well worth keeping it together. Man of the Match without doubt Daniel Byrne.
