13th Oct 2018 Mens 7th v City of York 10(Away) 0 - 3 loss

The Development twos took on their third game together and again but up an excellent performance against a more experienced York Development team. Masters winner Paddy Hagan in goal gave the team confidence right from the start, but as expected at this level the midfield found it very hard work. Rhydding went down to an early goal in fact all three goals scored in the first half led to poor distribution.

64 year old Johnnie Roughton, changed the midfield in the second half in what was planned for a more dogged performance by pulling back into midfield William Jones to support the excellent performance of Aiden Lee Wardle who along with Sam Browes showed superb control against a gifted York midfield.

The second half was a tremendous performance young Tom Oates and Aidan Fraser were very much alone up front but what ball they received they used it well and at the death the team almost won the second half when a goal created by the two forwards mentioned would have made the teams day but not to be.

The defence of Luca Eane Fiona Dix and Carl Mawson were very solid and Paddy in goal made some absolute amazing saves. The second half was an outstanding performance from a team who can build on this, distribution and positioning to receive the ball will come and will get better bearing in mind these boys average age is 12 years old

Man of the match goes to without doubt Aiden Lee Wardle, for his incredible work rate and skills, sorry Paddy, Johnnie is always right.
