12th Jan 2019 Mens 7th v Harrogate 7(Home) 0 - 4 loss
Dev 7ths came up against top of the table Harrogate 7, and had a tough match. From the very outset Harrogate demonstrated superior skills and determination, though the average age of the team looked to be at least a couple of years more than our 7ths; several of their players looked ready for our 4ths team!
Almost all the game took place in the Rhydding half, so much so that in the second half Harrogate brought their keeper off and added an extra outfield player.
Although the 7s experienced a lot of pressure in the first half for a good while we soaked it up, but eventually they found their way through and scored 2 goals. There was a similar outcome in the second half. Jim Dunn showed a lot of promise in one of his first games; Matt was excellent and made much of the play in the midfield; James demonstrated a lot of determination and skills; Dan kept us from being 10 goals down with some fine saves; and Carl was superb as a centre back, and gets man of the match.
Sadly we didn�t give the forwards much to do!
