5th Oct 2019 Mens 7th v Slazengers 6(Home) 3 - 0 win

David Abbotts Development 7s played exceptionally well against a well organised Slazengers Development team, the team consisted of 3 seniors Richard Box, Andrew Walsh and welcoming back Phil Burgin after a long term injury and one pensioner in skipper Johnnie Roughton who all provided the central core in the team formation

The flowing hockey from both sides at this level was very good and the Rhydding Development side looked the most likely to score first, and it came from excellent work down the right via Archie Normington for Rowan Box to provide the telling cross for Aidan Fraser to put the ball in the top corner of the net. Tom Oates scored the second goal to end the half with the team looking very comfortable

The second half saw many shots from Rhydding but sadly not on target. The midfield worked very hard and good performances from Will Jones, Alex Wood, Emily Wood ensured the momentum was maintained. The third goal came again from unselfish play allowing Kiera Sykes to cap a fine performance with her teams final goal.

George Walsh in goal kicked the ball with great confidence ensuring his clearance went to a Rhydding stick with Luca Eane defending well. Many thanks to Hugh Lambert for umpiring whose day was fulfilled when his beloved Clarets won at the Turf v Everton. A good all round team performance - man of the match Aidan Fraser
