2nd Nov 2019 Mens 7th v Airedale �3(Away) 0 - 0 draw
The 7ths met a slightly older Airedale team, and acquitted themselves extremely well.
Rhydding demonstrated strong skills from the start - good ball control and strong challenges when Airedale were attacking. Ben Pickles, Aidan Fraser and Archie Normington were effective, but it was also good to see newer players such as Benjamin Froggatt showing real determination. Where things went wrong was a tendency to try to take on too many Airedale players - eventually one of them will get the ball off you. Also, when we did get a chance to attack, we lacked player support in the D so there weren�t many options.
Overall a 0-0 result was fair, both teams had similar possession of the ball, both had a similar number of attacks on goal.
There are things to learn from today - earlier passing and more mobility to get into spaces to make passes easier will improve performance, and remembering to actually get in the D when we�re attacking won�t hurt at all!
