30th Oct 2021 Mens 7th v Ben Rhydding 8(Away) 3 - 2 win

With no league game for either of these teams on Saturday David Abbott organised a friendly game between the two Development teams, the 8s were captained by Neil Sugden and the 7s by Craig Wilkinson, the teams managed by Robbie Hatfield who had to make a goal keeping decision when George Taylor wanted to play outfield and it was down to Sam Smither to play a half for each side.

This was an excellent game of development hockey, the defence of the 8s In Joe Byrne Freddie Graves and Freddie Hird well supported by Neil Sugden, defended exceptionally
Well, although going a goal down this did not phase the 8s, the midfield of Kam Harrison, Brandon Hatfield-Archer, Alex Tate-Smith and an ever improving Tom Byrne worked very hard and ensured their passing remained constant throughout, Tom Sugden put the sides level and that is how it remained 1-1 at half time.

The second half saw the tempo uplifted as Mr Hatfield had insisted young Neil Sugden supported his brother Tom and added his second goal to bring the scoreline back to 3-2 this was after the 8s conceded two goals in the second half, Kam played very well and his skills are a credit to him And his coaches and of course Suggs.

The 7s played very well Craig, Rory and Phoebe Wilkinson all supported their team, Joe Butts, James and Sam Galley and Brinley Pratt all performed really well and had very good games.

Man of the match goes to goalkeeper Sam Smithers special thanks to both Claire and Aidan for umpiring
