26th Feb 2022 Mens 7th v Wakefield(Home) 4 - 0 win

Ben Rhydding Development 7s 4 Bradford Development 0

This was an exceptional performance from the 7s Development Team against a useful Bradford Development side Ben Rhydding lined up with three senior players in Fiona Hahn, Sam Yates and Johnnie Roughton both Sam and Fiona held the back line really well and constantly supported the midfield well.

It was Kam Harrison who scored a with a classic reverse stick strike at a time when you wondered where and when the first goal would come from, not to be outdone Max Hahn followed up with a second goal he well and truly deserved after excellent right wing play from Betsy Riley another player with a great future ahead of her hockey career

Going into the second half the 2-0 cushion gave the team confidence to go very much the same way what was encouraging throughout the game was how the younger midfield of Alex Skelton, Connor Hughes, Tommy Riley, Oli Yates and Amelie Knight stood out so well against a slightly more older Bradford midfield and all contributed to the teams overall excellent performance

The Development teams third and fourth goals were goals made from total unselfish play, Kam and Alex both added to their personal tally again good work Down the right flank from Fiona and Betsy Led to again reverse stick strikes from the two former players mentioned, two each for Kam and Alex four goals in total all reverse stick strikes

Bradford did threaten towards the end of the game but any attacks they did make were easily dealt with by Tia Merchx in goal and Aoife Hughes who played very well in defence and well supported by the influential Sam Yates.

The standard of the Development teams is very encouraging so many thanks to Max and Matt two of the many coaches the club are blessed with and to David Abbott who puts it all together on Saturday making it the success it is bringing to the club.
